Switzerland has ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) across universities, however, some private universities can use both European and American systems.

An academic year is equivalent to 60 credits (30 per semester) with 180 credits or 3 years required to achieve a Bachelor’s degree. For masters, you will need at least 90 credits respectively

The equivalent between ECTS and American system is roughly 2:1. Student, who wishes to transfer to a US university after finishing his degree in Switzerland, needs to remember about this calculation, so there will be no confusion with credits for postgraduate enrollment.
